SECTION 22 JUL 10
Sir,
Foreign Office to Colonial Office.
Foreign Office, July 6, 1910. WITH reference to your letter of the 19th November, 1909, I am directed by Secretary Sir Edward Grey to inform you that the reply of the Government of India on the subject of the American proposal to convene a conference at The Hague for the purpose of discussing the question of opium suppression in China has now been received.
I am to suggest that the informal Inter-departmental Committee suggested by you might now be held with as little delay as possible, and I am to enquire whether Tuesday next, the 12th July, at 3 P.M., would be a convenient date for a representative of your department to attend at this Office.
I have, &c.
F. A. CAMPBELL.
